New for the 2010-2011 academic year is a program called Alpha Esquire, conducted in partnership between Real Men, Real Heroes and Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. The program will take boys who have come through S.O.S. in middle school and guide them through the high school years, preparing them for college or other post-secondary school success. Specifically, Alpha Esquire will meet bi-weekly with boys drawn from Wichita public high schools, sharing a meal and providing academic tutoring as well as mentoring and grooming in life skills. Lessons will include professonal development skills such as resume writing, how to dress appropriately for professional settings, dining ettiquete, public speaking, civic responsibility and community service, peer relations, sexual responsibility, indepedent living skills and personal finance.
